With the success of Purpler as a droid, Childe and Myrdinn Dark turned their Do-It-Yourself-Killbot kit loose one more time... and created a droid that could create subunits for itself.
...with a built in limit to the number of servants it could have, of course. Can't have one's minions getting *too* uppity, after all.
